$23 BILLION lost or stolen in Iraq by American contractors and corrupt officials

2008 June 11

“It may well turn out to be the largest war profiteering in history.”

Up to $23bn has been lost, stolen or gone unaccounted for in Iraq since rebuilding efforts began there after the US invasion in 2003. $23bn in American taxpayers’ money squandered, disrespected and pillaged by foreign and American criminals alike.

The BBC is reporting on this outrageous scandal and has produced a documentary through BBC Panorama called Daylight Robbery that aired on the BBC on Tuesday, June 10. It can be viewed here, though I’m not sure for how long.

The documentary covers everything from no-competition contracts awarded to Haliburton, the travesty that has been the Blackwater saga, Iraqi government ministers that have embezzled government funds and everything in between. These are no longer just claims being murmered by liberal war critics. These are real happenings, this is a true story. And only the BRITISH Broadcasting Corporation is commenting on it.

Do share this with your friends. It runs at just over an hour and I promise you it is worth your time. Perhaps after reading this people will take Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s impeachment articles a little more seriously.
