Wasilla, Alaska smaller than Dayton Arena

2008 August 29

Sarah Palin as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska:

As of the 2000 census, its population was 5,470. The 2005 estimate gives it a population of 8,471,[1] making it the largest community in the borough.

Sarah Palin as new McCain VP pick:

…spoke to approx. 15,000 people. Almost twice as as many people as in her mayorship.

Ok, I’m done. I’ll get to substance next post.

I know, this post is very, very, old and probably gets little traffic now, but I, a Wasillan, just now happened upon it.

I am certain that you can stuff more people into the Dayton that live in Wasilla, but I would not be surprised if you could fit Dayton into the area we call Wasilla.

If you were to do this at night, while the people of Dayton mostly slept, they would so wowed when they got up the next morning that they might all just decide to stay put.

This would not be a good thing, however. Far too many people live in Wasilla right now, and more just keep pouring in.
