McCain Hits Lowest Point…
“Whether it’s a reversal in war, or an economic emergency, he reacts as a politician and not as a leader, seeking an advantage for himself instead of a solution for his country.”
McCain’s new charge against Obama.
You know, It’s not a secret that the McCain camp has little respect for Obama, but I fear that a psuedoculture of disrespect has developed so far in their campaign that they begin to feel cushioned in saying many things said behind closed doors to the public.
This recent charge, only a continuation of McCain’s “rather win an election than win a war,” assault goes one step farther than is permissible; if Obama’s withdrawal plan from Iraq were a plan for defeat, it’d be a little odd to find the president of Iraq endorsing it. As for Obama’s stance on the bail-out, it’s nearly identical to McCain’s.
But since McCain has allowed us to open that can of worms:
McCain has changed his stance on abortion.
McCain has changed his stance on deregulation.
McCain has changed his stance on torture.
McCain once condemned extreme evangelical minister as “agents of intolerance,” he has since accepted their endorsements.
Changed his stance on Veterans support.
Changed on Offshore drilling.
Warrantless Wiretapping – flopped
Privatizing social security, used to be against it.
Yucca Mountain – He swings both ways.
Now, I won’t go preaching that Obama’s been perfect in a resolute stand by his beliefs, he hasn’t, but the breakneck speed with which McCain has moved from being a true moderate to a “safe” member of the Republican right is incredible, and he hasn’t just flopped on little issues either; Roe v. Wade is a serious issue in the culture wars and as a former POW, torture?
Nor do I think a good politician is necessarily one who always stands by his or her positions, sometimes changing times demand changing positions, but that McCain has denied his changes or sought to spin them means that this isn’t the case. His campaign continually hides McCain and Palin from the media going so far as to nearly create a media revolt this morning.
So, if this is the essential argument the McCain campaign is going to make about Obama from here on out, without the support of the media, it’s an argument he’ll lose.
And if he’s so cynically willing to play politics with people’s histories, it’s going to cause the media and then maybe the people who really has the honor problem.
-Marc-

You’ll excuse me Marc if I think you completely blind in the left eye – but being that politics is your religion, I suppose I can understand the one-sidedness.
I could make a list a mile long of stances Obama has flipped on being there is little debate the messiah is the most liberal member of the U.S. Senate. Yet, virtually every member of the Dimocratic party in favor of Obama is now trying to typecast the messiah as a “moderate” to gain favor because you know he can’t win being defined as a lib.
The height of Obama’s hypocrisy is his crawdadding on the issue known as partial-birth abortion which I’ve mentioned before here.
Face it Marc – this man has little problem with viable babies being butchered in the most inhumane way possible – and this from the so called Christian man of faith. Twice the false messiah tried to have the vote overturned. On this issue alone, I know Obama is a liar, a hatemonger and a charlatan.
“So, if this is the essential argument the McCain campaign is going to make about Obama from here on out, without the support of the media, it’s an argument he’ll lose.”
I don’t think this is going to be a central arguement from McCain. This is just fodder for people to yack about.
I figure Obama’s associations will be the next big attack by the McCain camp. Since Obama claims to have experience, it’s time we discuss where he got that experience, and who helped him gain it.
Should make for some fun debate. If not for them, for us.
Tex,
the author of the legislation on the Born Alive Act actually cleared Obama of the charge you make, even he recognized that Obama thought it was a backdoor legal way of restricting conventional abortions.
And for the record Obama voted against it 4 times.
Just so we get the record straight.
Marc,
Baloney…
Obama is about as rational about abortion as the NOW clan. What, a backdoor of restricting legal abortions at 8 months? Gawd, I’ve heard of legalese but that tops even Slick Willie.
That is complete falsehood. Actually, I was going to call it blatant lie on your part but being that it is your blog and you’re nice enough to let me vote here, I’ll leave it as falsehood.
Born Alive Act…now there’s a misnomer. What a joke!
In 2002, as an Illinois legislator, Obama voted against the Induced Infant Liability Act, which would have protected babies that survived late-term abortions. That same year a similar federal law, the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, was signed by President Bush.
That is officially a more radical stance than NARAL Marc. Congratulations…
Only 15 members of the U.S. House opposed it, and it passed the Senate unanimously on a voice vote.
And I quote:
Jill Stanek, a registered delivery-ward nurse who was the prime mover behind the legislation after she witnessed aborted babies’ being born alive and left to die, testified twice before Obama in support of the Induced Infant Liability Act bills. She also testified before the U.S. Congress in support of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.
Stanek told me her testimony “did not faze” Obama.
In the second hearing, Stanek said, “I brought pictures in and presented them to the committee of very premature babies from my neonatal resuscitation book from the American Pediatric Association, trying to show them unwanted babies were being cast aside. Babies the same age were being treated if they were wanted!”
“And those pictures didn’t faze him [Obama] at all,” she said.
By the way, let us call it what Obama originally tried to block – infanticide.
And you don’t want to know how the American Century Dictionay defines that one…LOL.
Tex,
Their was already legislation which required that any infant born alive, whether through an aborted birth or not, to be tended for.
Obama clearly opposed it, as you can read in his house speech on the floor, for technical reasons. The chicago tribune did a full legislative history here:
http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2008/08/bornalive.html#more
Stanek, btw, is hardly just an innocent unbiased hospital nurse.
She’s been very active in a program condemning the proliferation of condoms in HIV ridden areas of Africa, going as far as to pay for billboards which indicated that condom users die of a plague (albeit a religious one)
Marc,
Nonetheless Marc notwithstanding the lady’s religious or political stand, you just lied. I just gave her quote and Obama’s voting account is a matter of public record. He’s more liberal about abortion than NARAL – and that is the fact. That’s not up for debate.
With all due respect and I’ll grant you some, Obama is a joke. From his racist preacher (all in the name of love), to his failing hometown, to his empty promises (the tax cut is a joke and I will be willing to be a large sum of money he won’t if your messiah wins), to his unwillingness to admit wrong (the surge success), the whole concept of change pertaining to Obama is bogus. He’s an affirmative quota able to fool the lightweight masses and the bleeding hearts with a nice soundbite. Obama is an empty suit and truth be known, I think you know it. I’m no fan of McCain but I know shyster when I see one.
In fact, I saw a little statistic today that told the story of our proposed failed war in Iraq. Seems more people were murdered in Chicago between Memorial Day and Labor Day this year than American soldiers dying in Iraq. If we are losing the war as the messiah insists, what does that say about his corrupt town?
Your side may win this election. But you’ll have to do it by dishonest means in lying and defending your dishonest candidate.
I’d be careful what you wish for. Because if Obama does win, then your side has to stand and deliver. And recent history says Dimocrats are devoid of much success. The American people may have forgotten that – I haven’t.
Either way, I don’t feel like I can lose in this election. McCain wins, I pulled the right lever and my side wins. Obama wins, and I am going to become the biggest pain in the ass and biggest critic libs have ever seen. And I guarantee after 8 years of anti-American whining, I’m not alone.
Personally, I’m wanting to go on the offense for awhile. You think I’m a mouth now, just wait until I begin to write the daily critique.
