The Glorious Return Of The “Hope and Change” Deadly Drinking Game…
2008 September 26
…with some modifications for the debate. This is a take off of our wildly popular post from the primaries, which has been a continual attention getter everytime Obama makes a public speech.
The rules are:
McCain Rules
- Every time McCain says ‘my friends,’ drink.
- Everytime McCain is asked a new question, everyone must respond with, “at least I don’t paint on the makeup like a trollop you c*%t.” Last person to do so drinks.
- The entire time McCain speaks players will be able to ‘invade’ other players by putting their finger in another person’s cup without them noticing. If they are able to do so, the invaded person must drink from their cup as well as their conqueror’s cup until McCain is done speaking.
Obama Rules
- Every time Obama says ‘Hope’, drink.
- If Obama talks about another four years of the “same old politics” drink four times
- If Obama mentions his trips abroad everyone has to have a “celebrity” moment and stand up. Last person to do so drinks.
General rules
- Every time someone says ‘change,’ exchange your drink with the person next to you and have a drink.
- Every time they mention a bail-out, ‘richer’ people (the treasury) with more in their cup pour some of their drink into the cup of ‘poorer’ people (banks) with less left to drink.
- If they discuss Iraq everyone gets a miniature soldier on the cup that they have to make an overture of removing and replacing every time they drink. Those forgetting drink again. The soldier remains until they move onto discussing something else.
- If they mentions God/faith everyone shouts out hallelujah! Last person to do so drinks.
- For every mention of global warming or climate change, lose an article of clothing.
Disclaimers: Have to be 21, drink responsibly, understand that if you follow all of the rules while drinking liquor death is a likelihood. The author of this post can not be held responsible for the stereotypical nature of the candidates speeches.
Don’t drink and drive.

I think Obama saying “hope” is really overstated, Obama doesn’t even say that word a lot anymore.
