Now I Know I’m Not Crazy…

2008 October 9

… video of Palin supporters outside of a rally expressing their belief that Obama’s a terrorist and in one case, “a commie faggot.” I’m sure this video has been somewhat edited to reflect only the nasty side, yet the sheer volume of crazies, and with such absolute freedom they feel to speak their mind, is frightening.

Yet, not all conservatives have lost their mind. From Frum:

Those who press this Ayers line of attack are whipping Republicans and conservatives into a fury that is going to be very hard to calm after November. Is it really wise to send conservatives into opposition in a mood of disdain and fury for a man who may well be the next president of the United States, incidentally the first African-American president? Anger is a very bad political adviser. It can isolate us and push us to the extremes at exactly the moment when we ought to be rebuilding, rethinking, regrouping and recruiting.

I’m not suggesting that we remit our opposition to a hypothetical President Obama. Only that an outgunned party will need to stay cool. A big part of Obama’s appeal is his self-command. It’s a genuinely impressive quality. Let’s emulate it. We’ll be needing it.

This party is imploding, and it’s spinning of a whole lot of ugliness in the meanwhile. Let’s hope we can all get out of the way when it does.

It’s videos like this that remind me of why I left the Republican Party. This is NOT the party of Lincoln or Reagen. I want my party back!

I’m voting against McCain much more than I am voting for Obama.

These people are crazy, and thanks for the video, my post is constantly being updated with these crazy McCain supporters.
Even though, I do love the part where they say, “get a job”.

    Oh. My. God.

This makes me immeasurably sad to see such hatred and ignorance.

My God, these people are hatemongers.

    Slandering, hating on, outright lying.

I guess 1933 Germany was just like this.

The only thing is, US Americans are too much of cowards to actually something in the US. They much rather bomb arabs and then watch it in the news.

Hate on, U.S.A., hate on. The world’s loving it.

Let’s just pray for these sad, delusional people.
They remind me of a great line from “The American President”: “How can you have patience with people who claim to love America, but clearly can’t stand Americans?”

And please tell me that Penn. has better sense than to vote for the morally bankrupt, soulless John McCain and mediocre “pick,” Sarah Palin.

Mike — I know how you feel. I didn’t so much leave the GOP as much as it left me.

Lincoln would be disgusted by today’s Republicans, and I don’t think even Reagan would care for them.

Nixon, maybe. Goldwater, possibly. But I think that the current Republican Party is now the legacy of Joe McCarthy and Lee Atwater.
