Good Riddance…

2008 December 1

As a result of the poor economy and the bail-out, GM has decided to shed themselves of the Hummer.

GM is studying whether to shed its Saturn, Saab and Pontiac brands in addition to Hummer as part of its effort to cut costs to secure $12 billion in government loans, Bloomberg reported in its online edition Wednesday. Selling or dropping brands would not only save money but also reduce overlap in its product line, Bloomberg said.

Isn’t Saturn their greenest brand?! They need to shed their redundant GMC brand. There isn’t a GMC model that is not available as a Chevy.

I’m thinking SAAB can stay alive on it’s own and I agree that the rest are overdue their exits. I would say GM could learn from some of the things it allowed Saturn to do though.

Why not shed all the brands and just call them chevy’s or Gmc’s… They are all the same any way
